INTRODUCTION TO THE CLUB
WHAT IS BIG FEED CLUB?
We are an easy way to order groceries and essentials for your home or business on the island portion of Newfoundland and Labrador. To-your-door delivery is available in the North East Avalon Region OR to your closest. DRL Coachlines pick-up location.
We will pay a living wage to any employees hired (based on Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives 2019 calculation) and offset our carbon emissions.
The best thing about this club is membership is free!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Pick your items, click the shopping cart icon to checkout, and select an available delivery date - that simple! There is a minimum order total of $100.
WHAT IS THE COST?
All fees are built into the prices displayed for to-your-door delivery in the North East Avalon Region.
A 15% Shipping Fee is applied to all DRL Coachlines pick-up location orders.
We pay our workers a living wage so they don't have to rely on tips.
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR PRODUCTS?
Currently, 100% of our products are purchased from Costco in St. John’s, NL. Our hope is to offer locally made and produced products in due course - stay tuned!
HOW DO YOU OFFSET YOUR EMISSIONS?
We calculate our emissions quarterly and purchase Gold Standard offsets from Less Canada.
ORDERING AND DELIVERY
WHY CAN’T I SCHEDULE AN ORDER MORE THAN TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE?
We can only guarantee our prices and product offering for the upcoming two weeks due to changing availability.
WHAT HAPPENS IF NOBODY IS HOME TO RECEIVE THE DELIVERY?
It will be left on your step or porch and we’ll send you a photo. We take no responsibility if there isn’t anyone home during your scheduled delivery time slot. Please be courteous and select a time slot that works for you.
WILL YOU BE ADDING NEW PRODUCTS?
We are always adding new products to our catalog - any suggestions are welcomed!
I LIVE OUTSIDE OF THE NORTH EAST AVALON, WHEN WILL YOU DELIVER TO MY AREA?
We have partnered with DRL Coachlines to service 20+ communities with pick-up locations and are constantly evaluating other areas for expansion. We'll be sure to let you know if we expand into more regions.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PRODUCT I WANT ISN’T IN STOCK?
We will provide you a refund for any products not in stock within 48 hours.
CAN I ADD TO MY ORDER AFTER I MAKE A PURCHASE?
Yes! Simply add items to your cart and complete your order like you normally would. Our system will select your existing delivery date and timeslot + waive the $100 minimum order fee.

HOW DO THE DRL COACHLINES PICK-UP ORDERS WORK?
Through our partnership with DRL Coachlines, we can ship to your closest designated DRL Coachlines pick-up location. Orders must be placed at least 2 days in advance.
All perishable items will be procured from Costco the day before your order to ensure the freshest possible items.
Items required to be cooled or frozen will be packaged with either frozen gel packs or dry ice and placed within insulated packaging.
WHAT HAPPENS IF AN ITEM IS DAMAGED?
The Big Feed Club is committed to offering the highest quality service possible. We are a small local Newfoundland and Labrador-based business and we plan to be around for the long haul!
However, there are times when items may be damaged in transit or items may not be up to your satisfaction.

Many of the pick-up locations are small businesses themselves and they would appreciate it if you collected your packages promptly.

ITEMS PACKED WITH DRY ICE - WARNING
Dry-ice is great for maintaining frozen products over long distances but it can cause harm if not handled properly.
HANDLE DRY-ICE PACKAGING WITH GLOVES AND DO NOT MAKE DIRECT CONTACT WITH SKIN.
DO NOT DISPOSE OF DRY-ICE IN YOUR SINK, TOILET, WASHTUB, OR BATHTUB.
LEAVE DRY-ICE IN AN OPEN ENVIRONMENT (OUTSIDE) AND WAIT FOR IT TO DISSIPATE.
DO NOT BREATHE IN OR CONSUME DRY-ICE.
DO NOT STORE THE REMAINING DRY-ICE IN YOUR FRIDGE OR FREEZER - IT CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR APPLIANCES.
PRODUCTS
HOW DO YOU TRANSPORT YOUR PERISHABLE ITEMS?
During transport, perishable items are packed with gel ice packs or dry ice as appropriate. These items are also wrapped in insulated packaging.
FHOW IS MY ORDER PACKED/SHIPPED?
Goods arrive at your door or your designated DRL Coachlines pick-up location in cardboard boxes or as standalone items if they are bulky or do not require additional packaging.
I’VE NOTICED SOME PRODUCE ITEMS LISTED DON’T HAVE A QUANTITY.
Due to the constant changes of certain perishable items at Costco, the number of items in any particular package may fluctuate.
For example, Costco may carry a package of blueberries from 3 separate suppliers in a 1 month period. In cases like these, the weight/volume of blueberries may also fluctuate. Be rest assured, Costco typically has the best price on perishable items in the province on a volume basis.
FOOD ALLERGIES?
Deliveries will likely be packed in the same truck as items such as nuts and fish. We cannot guarantee that packaging has not come into contact with these types of products.
THE PRODUCT I RECEIVED DOESN’T LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE PICTURE LISTED?
Costco suppliers change somewhat frequently, so things like packaging design and weight can also change. We will do our best to select the product that is as close as possible to what you have ordered.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PRODUCT I ORDERED IS NOT IN STOCK, WILL YOU MAKE A SUBSTITUTION?
If the product has a near-identical substitution, our staff will select this product for you.
As an example, one brand of paper towel may not be in stock, however, a near-identical brand may be in store. In situations like this, we would provide you with the in-store product instead.
In another example, if you ordered Gatorade and only Gatorade zero was in stock, we would not make a substitution as they are substantially different.
